Longtime businessman from Menomonie going to jail

Menomonie (WQOW) - A longtime Menomonie businessman is going to jail.

Greg LaPean was sentenced Friday for defrauding Security State Bank out of more than $1 million. The owner of the former LaPean Implement was accused of selling tractors that had been used as collateral for a loan, and not repaying the bank. His wife is set to go to trial in April on similar charges.

Friday in Dunn County Court, Greg LaPean got six months in jail. He was also ordered to repay the money, do community service and not to gamble.
