UPDATE: Finalist withdraws candidacy for Altoona Superintendent

Posted:

Altoona (WQOW) - The list of finalists for Altoona superintendent has been narrowed to two.  One candidate dropped out.

Dr. Paul Vine, the former administrator of the Rice Lake School District, is no longer in the running. The Altoona School District says he'll pursue other opportunities. Vine resigned from Rice Lake last summer after an independent study found the district was in turmoil.  That study placed most of the blame on Vine, other administrators, and the school board.

Connie Biedron, who is an elementary principal in Blair-Taylor, and David Dyb, a middle-school principal in Lodi are the remaining finalists.

You can meet them at a public forum on Monday. It starts at five in the high school auditorium.
