Eau Claire Co. departments ready to make frac sand recommendations

WQOW (Eau Claire County) - As residents come together for another public meeting on sand mining, they're getting an idea of how Eau Claire County could move forward.

There was a public informational meeting on sand mining in Augusta on Monday night.  A county representative said the meeting would start with a report on the status of the moratorium.  After that, reports would be given by departments.  Those would include recommendations on potential policy or ordinance changes regarding nonmetallic mining operations in the county.  Two reports are attached to this story.

Recommendations would eventually go before the county board.
