Chippewa County (WQOW) - Two more frac sand companies want to do business in Chippewa County.

This week, two applications for permits were filed in the Town of Auburn. Taylor Creek Transit is interested in a 35-acre site that does not include a wash plant. A & M Mikl Sands is applying for a 185-acre site that does call for a wash plant.

In Chippewa County, there are now 10 mines either in operation or in the application process. A map that provides the details on those sites can be found alongside this story.
