Another zoning employee resigns in Buffalo County

Buffalo County (WQOW) - Frac sand mining has been a big issue in Buffalo County and now, that county will need some additional help.  Another member of the zoning department has resigned.

Chad DeWyre, a zoning technician, is taking a job with the Natural Resources Conservation Service.  His last day with the county will be March 13th.  Right now, he's handling nonmetallic mining permits because the zoning administrator also resigned recently to take a job with a frac sand mining company.  The county administrator says no decision has been made about who will handle those permits once DeWyre leaves.

On March 15th, there will be a public hearing in Buffalo County about a potential one-year moratorium on frac sand mining.  The meeting will be held at the Alma school gym at 6:30 p.m.
