Buffalo County puts sand mine moratorium in place

Buffalo County (WQOW) - Another area county votes to put the brakes on sand-mining, for the time being.

Tuesday, the Buffalo County Board approved a seven-month moratorium on frac sand mines. The county says a majority of residents at Tuesday's meeting favored the moratorium, and actually pushed for it to be in effect for a year.

The moratorium will take effect at the end of March.
