Eau Claire County (WQOW) - Eau Claire County is being asked to lift its moratorium for a second mining company, but that company did not get a vote of support Tuesday night.

Recently, the county board approved an exemption to the moratorium for Hi-Crush. Another mining company, High Country, was hoping for the same fate, but the county rejected that amendment. A board member brought the issue back to the table again and Tuesday night, the Planning and Development Committee recommended rejecting that proposal as well.
