Easter egg hunt tradition continues at Carson Park

Eau Claire (WQOW)- An Eau Claire Easter tradition brought thousands of people to Carson Park Saturday.

Kids of all ages took part in an egg hunt.  An event organizer with the Boy Scouts says his group bought 1,000 bags of candy for the hunt.  It only lasted about 10 minutes before all those eggs were snatched up.  But there was a cap of 5 eggs per child so that everyone could grab some candy.

"That way someone doesn't end up not getting any eggs," says Eau Claire Boy Scouts CEO Gary Gilger.  "But then towards the end we said take as many as you want so we don't have to pick them up."

Event organizers called Saturday's hunt a success and were already talking about putting the event on again next year.
