Eau Claire County (WQOW) - We now have a better idea of why a man was walking on the interstate when he was hit by a car.

The incident happened Monday on I-94 just west of Eau Claire.  The State Patrol says a 52-year-old Menomonie man made arrangements for someone to give him a ride, but decided to start walking and meet the person along the way.  While he was crossing the interstate, a car hit him in the leg.  The man was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.
