MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has tagged the largest sturgeon in Wisconsin history.

Officials found the over 7-foot-3-inch long, 240-pound female on the Wolf River near Shawano on Tuesday.

The DNR estimates the sturgeon was born around 1887.

Officials tagged 565 sturgeon on Tuesday -- the most ever in one day.
