MADISON (WKOW) – Madison police say a man stole a purse from a residential home on the 3000 block of Atwood Avenue early Sunday morning.

Police say the suspect, a man wearing dark-colored clothing, entered the victim's porch at about 6 a.m. Sunday through an unlocked screen door and then forced the back door open.

The suspect fled on foot with the victim's purse. The victim was home at the time of the burglary.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call police.
