Barrett ad asks Walker to reveal John Doe details

MADISON (WKOW) -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has released a new ad asking Gov. Scott Walker to reveal information about the John Doe investigation in Milwaukee County.

"I'm asking Gov. Walker in this commercial that he'll release to the public all emails between himself and those former associates of his who were charged with or pleaded guilty to criminal wrongdoing," Barrett said Thursday.

Barrett also wants Walker to disclose who is paying for the governor's legal defense fund.

Walker says he has been asked by the Milwaukee County District Attorney not to make comments about the case.

Walker has also said he's not the target of the investigation.

"The details that come out about this clearly show that I had a strict policy against any staff using taxpayers resources for political campaign-related activities and when we were made aware of anyone who violated that policy we took action against them," Walker said Thursday.

Walker says he is cooperating with the investigation and has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
