Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Sometimes all it takes is a pep talk. Riding a four-game losing streak, the Express held a players only meeting before Saturday's game. Eau Claire then jumped on the Mallards early, scoring the game's first six runs to pick up the win.

Eau Claire got another solid performance on the mound from pitcher Matt Trowbridge. He went six innings, allowing no runs on just two hits,while striking out six Madison batters. Josh Scheffert led the offense, going 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. Outfielder Blake Schmit added a solo home run in the 4th inning. 

The Express improve to 5-6 on the season. They play Madison again on Sunday at Carson Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m.
