Driver accused of hitting pedestrians sentenced

Black River Falls (WQOW)- A driver accused of hitting two pedestrians with her car was sentenced Thursday.

Jackson County investigators say Destinee Link and several passengers in her car had been involved in an altercation with four people who were walking along a road.

It happened last fall near Black River Falls. Link allegedly drove toward a woman, hitting her in the leg. Witnesses say Link continued on and hit a man. He says he rolled across her car, broke the windshield, and hit his head on the pavement.

Link was first charged with attempted murder, but that charge was reduced in a plea bargain. She was put on probation Thursday with orders to do 32 hours of community service every week until she gets a job or goes to school. She will also be on electronic monitoring for six months.
