MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The Mt. Horeb girls soccer team fell short of its first title in school history, with its 2-0 loss to Catholic Memorial in the Division 2 state championship game. The Crusaders scored goals in the 7th and 44th minutes of the game. The Lady Vikings only recorded one shot on goal in the game. Mt. Horeb finishes the season runners up in its first ever appearance to the state tournament in program history.
MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The Mt. Horeb girls soccer team advances to the Division 2 championship game with its 2-0 win over Notre Dame in Friday's semifinals. Vikings' Cassie Handrick scored the first Mt. Horeb goal 59 minutes into the game on a penalty kick, after Claire Miller was tripped inside the penalty box. Mt. Horeb's Kelly Sullivan then sealed the game with her goal in the 73rd minute. Mt. Horeb will play the winner of Xavier/Catholic Memorial Saturday at noon for the D2 state title.
