Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Two very different games for the Express end in a similar result, falling to La Crosse 1-0 and 5-4 in 8 innings.
The Express bats went cold in game one, picking up just four hits against the Loggers pitching staff. Eau Claire got a good pitching performance from A.J. Ladwig who went to 0-3 on the season despite going all seven innings, allowing just one run and striking out 6.
In game two, Eau Claire was able to tie the game up on two different occasions, including in the 6th inning. But in extra innings, La Crosse was able to push a pair of runs across to seal the win. The Express countered with a run in the bottom of the 8th, but that's all they could muster.
Eau Claire continues its home stand Saturday against Green Bay. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. at Carson Park.
