VERONA (WKOW) -- This Father's Day, an area organization met their goal in keeping dozens of students active.
Kindergartners to freshmen in high school took part in Sunday's Aqua Dash, at the Goodman Aquatic Center.
Kids swam and ran and the distances, based on their age. Students received metals at the finish line.
The students say this reminds them how important it is to stay healthy.
"You need to keep your body healthy and its probably good to exercise more, so it's fun to do races and get your exercises at the same time," said Acacia Doughty, Cherokee Middle School.
This event was put on by the Madison School and Community Recreation Center, part of the Madison Metropolitan School District.
Organizers say the money raised went towards aquatic scholarships.
They have another event happening again on July 15. To find out more, click here.
