Walker says Romney can turn country around

Posted:

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker is voicing his support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at a campaign stop in Janesville.

Walker introduced Romney inside the Monterey Mills factory during a stop in Romney's multistate bus tour.

Romney's visit came less than two weeks after Walker won a recall election. Walker made only passing reference to the recall, saying "it is my honor to still be the 45th governor of the great state of Wisconsin."

Walker says he's turned Wisconsin around, citing the unemployment rate that's the lowest it's been since 2008 and thousands of new jobs are being created. He says "It's time to elect a leader who can turn things around for America."

U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan and U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson also appeared at the event.
