Man charged with shooting his neighbor's dog with an arrow

Woodville (WQOW)- A western Wisconsin man finds his dog shot with an arrow, and now his neighbor is charged with doing it.

A Woodville man found his 14-year-old border collie with an arrow stuck four inches into its backside. A vet was able to remove it.  Saint Croix County detectives say Stuart Kahler told them the dog was in his yard barking at his young children and went into his garage.

But they say Kahler sent his kids into the house before he allegedly shot it, so investigators say the dog was not a danger.  Kahler also told detectives the owner's wife had told him to shoot at the dog with a BB gun when it came into his yard, but he said it kept coming back. Kahler is charged with mistreating animals.
