APPLETON (WKOW) -- A former Wisconsin prosecutor accused
of misconduct says he was addicted to sex and prescription drugs.
Former Calumet County District Attorney Ken Kratz
testified in a state Office of Lawyer Regulation hearing Tuesday. He said his
struggles with sex and prescription drugs started to affect his professional
life in 2009.
Kratz resigned as Calumet County District Attorney in 2010
after sending inappropriate text messages to a woman while he was prosecuting
her ex-boyfriend. Kratz told the OLR that he put a gun in his mouth as he faced
criticism for his behavior.
Kratz is trying to convince a referee at the hearing he
has suffered enough.
The OLR wants the state Supreme Court to suspend Kratz's
law license.
