Eau Claire (WQOW)- Drivers were forced to take a detour after heavy rains damaged a busy Eau Claire street on Wednesday.

Eddy Lane on the north side flooded after severe storms swept through the area. The rushing water caused a sinkhole to form in the middle of the street.

Police on scene said that the sinkhole is about a foot to a foot and a half deep. Barricades have been set up block out drivers from the area and will stay up until the sinkhole has been fixed.
