UPDATE: Big Falls open again for swimmers

Eau Claire (Press Release) -- The Eau Claire County Parks & Forest Department announces that water testing results by the City County Health Department indicate that Big Falls County Park water is now within acceptable health standards and is therefore now open for wading. 

All public beaches on Eau Claire County land are now within acceptable standards and therefore open.

Eau Claire (Press Release) -- The Eau Claire Parks & Forest Department announces that due to high levels of bacteria, Big Falls Park wading area is closed effective immediately. 

The City-County Health Department policy is to close all areas whenever water samples indicate high levels of bacteria above safe standards. The Health Department will retest the area Monday and the Parks & Forest Department will inform the public when bacteria levels are within acceptable health standards.

Lake Eau Claire, Coon Fork and Lake Altoona beaches were tested and results indicated they were within acceptable health standards.
