DURAND, Wis. (AP) -- The victim of an ultra-light plane crash in Buffalo County has been identified as a Durand man.
Douglas Kadinger was piloting a single-seat aircraft at Durand Airport in the town of Maxville when it crashed during takeoff Sunday. Authorities say Kadinger was killed on impact. He was 40 years old.
KAGE radio reports Buffalo County Sheriff Michael Schmidtknecht says Kadinger had purchased the ultra-light just a few weeks ago. FAA investigators are looking into cause of the crash.

Maxville (WQOW)- The Buffalo County Sheriff's Department says a local man is dead after his single-seat airplane he was flying crashed during take off.
Authorities are not releasing the name of the man until his family members have been alerted, but they say the man was from the Durand area. The crash happened around 11:45 a.m. Sunday at the Durand Airport in the town of Maxville. The sheriff's department says it will continue to investigate the crash---and will most likely release the name of the man tomorrow.
