Meet The Express: Andrew Hedrick

Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Express pitcher Andrew Hedrick turned in a quality start Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits over seven innings, as Eau Claire lost 3-2 at Madison.

Hedrick, a left-hander from the University of Iowa, knew he was headed to the Northwoods League even before he was done with high school.

"Before I went to college, my college coach, my pitching coach, asked me if I wanted to come here for the summer," Hedrick says, "while I was still in high school, so I pretty much told him right on the spot that I'd come."  

Hedrick still has three more college seasons with the Hawkeyes, so he's trying to make the most of his NWL experience in Eau Claire.

"It gives me a lot of experience," Hedrick says, "especially with this kind of ball, with the wood bats and stuff."  

Hedrick says his experience in Eau Claire has been outstanding so far.

"The community is great," says Hedrick, "there's a lot of good fans, the stadium's great, I really enjoy the stadium, it's a great atmosphere around here."
