Eau Claire (WQOW)- Police were called to an apartment building on Coventry Court Monday night. They arrived to find a male who had been stabbed multiple times.

Eau Claire police say they were called to 4939 Coventry Court, Apartment #6 just after 11:00 o'clock. Outside the building they found 24-year-old William M. Yakesh who was bleeding and had multiple knife wounds to his arms, shoulder, chest and back. He was taken to a local hospital; where he underwent surgery. Police say the knife wounds were not life-threatening.

Officers made contact with Yakesh's roommate, 28-year-old Christopher A. Buisse. After investigating police determined that a fight broke out between Yakesh and Buisse inside the apartment. A kitchen knife was used in the stabbing. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.

Both Yakesh and Buisse were arrested for battery.
