Update on dog who survived Clark County washout

Posted:

Clark County (WQOW) - Here's an update about a dog WQOW first told you about last week.

He survived a fatal crash in Clark County.... Caused by a large washout.

Last week, heavy rains caused a washout along County Road M, and left a 50-foot gap in the road, about 12 to 15 feet deep.

Mary Malinowski was one of three people who died as a result of the washout.  Mary's dog Dukie, who was traveling with her, survived, but was injured.  He was taken to a veterinary clinic where they had to amputate his leg.

Struggling with the un-expected financial cost, Mary's family reached out for help.  Through your donations, $1,500 was raised.  The money that was not used will go into a fund for any future vet visits Dukie may need.
