Eau Claire (WQOW) -- The Express offense explodes for a season-high 11 runs, as Eau Claire cruises to a win over Battle Creek in front of a crowd of 1,253 at Carson Park.

The Express breaks open a tie game with a 6-run fifth inning, also a season high for most runs in a single inning.  Pitcher Devin Moore is the beneficiary of all that offense, as he picks up his first win of the season, scattering six hits and allowing four runs over eight innings.

"We pitched really well," says Express outfielder Nick Addison, "Devin Moore giving us a spot start like that and coming out and competing like that. Who knows, after the first inning, we're down 2-0, he could be thinking 'Oh, I'm not a starter.' He's not used to that role, but he came in and did a great job for us."

Ty Forney and Casey Gillaspie each slug home runs for Eau Claire, while Gillaspie, Nick Bullington, Alex Real, and Josh Scheffert each have two hits.  Tim Zier and Gillaspie each have two RBI.

"There's no reason we can't go out there and play like that every night," says Forney, "we made no errors and Devin pitched a great game out there and that's all we could ask for."

The Express will next play a three-game series with the Wisconsin Woodchucks.  The Thursday and Friday night games will be in Wausau, with the two teams playing a 6:35 P.M. game Saturday at Carson Park.
