Arrest warrant issued for woman accused of stealing checks

Chippewa County (WQOW) - Charges have been filed against an Eau Claire woman, accused of forging checks to the tune of $1,500.

A warrant has been issued for Heidi Voorhees arrest. According to the criminal complaint, she allegedly stole checks and an ID from an Altoona woman.

She then used those checks, which were from a closed bank account, to buy cigarettes and alcohol from several Chippewa County gas stations.  She has been charged with 16 felony counts of forgery.
