Eau Claire (WQOW) - A local restaurant will donate all of Monday's sales to help a former employee and area baseball standout.
The Culver's on west Folsom Street in Eau Claire will give Monday's proceeds to the family of Phil Isaksson, a 23 year old all-state baseball player for Eau Claire North who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. Isaksson and two of his siblings worked at the Culver's while attending school.
"Our employees are our family. We work with them everyday, you know, and we really have a bonding. When something like this came up, it wasn't even a second thought between myself, my husband, and our partners Bob and Teresa Parsons. We were very much into "Let's do what we can do to help this family," said store owner Wendy Kinderman.
Over 40 volunteers, including employees at the Eau Claire, Lake Hallie, and Menomonie locations have signed up to work during the fundraiser.
