other counts. Cody allegedly broke into Bob Smith Window Cleaning Sunday and stole some laptop computers.

Eau Claire (WQOW) - One person is in custody following a police chase in Eau Claire.
Police say a suspected burglar was coming out of a downtown Eau Claire business, when he ran. That turned into a half hour chase that ended up in the Chippewa River. The suspect told officers he had outstanding warrants and was not interested in talking to police.
"The first officer reported that the person had come out of the water, then went back into the water. Ultimately he was contacted at the river bank at approximately the 400 block of Graham Avenue behind a parking garage there and at that point explained to myself that he was not going to be taken into custody and dove into the river and began swimming out into the deep parts," said Eau Claire Police Department's Lt. Tim Golden
"Eventually this person looked a little bit tired, and one of our engine companies threw him a life jacket from one of the bridges. He grabbed the life jacket, and shortly thereafter he crawled out under his own power from the river," Battalion Chief Bryon Benson said.
The suspect, a 30 year old male, will appear in court Monday. His name has not been released. Police are still investigating the charges.
