Eau Claire (WQOW) - There have been much longer lines
than usual at a local restaurant. Monday, Culver's is donating 100% of its
sales to a former employee who is battling cancer.
Volunteers are staffing the Culver's
on West Folsom Street in Eau Claire.
Throughout the day, the line of people waiting to place an order snaked all the
way around the building. The restaurant will donate all of the day's sales to
the family of Eau Claire
north graduate Phil Isaksson, a former employee who was recently diagnosed with
brain cancer.
"People are waiting
in line, it's hot and they're waiting outside. But yet everybody's patient,
because they know it's for the right cause. We've got all the help we could
possibly get in there to make it go faster. People are patient, they're thankful,
and there's cards on the table. They can write a little note," said Gary
Theelke, who owns the Culver's in Menomonie and is volunteering at the event.
