Eau Claire (WQOW) - Culver's says if you add up Monday's sales and cash donations from customers, the fundraiser for a young man battling brain cancer could top $23,500.
The restaurant on West Folsom Street in Eau Claire donated 100% of its Monday sales to Phil Isaakson, an Eau Claire North graduate and former Culver's employee. Isaakson was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.
Culver's recorded 2,200 transactions on Monday, which was triple the business it did a year ago on that date. The restaurant had $20,500 in sales with an estimated $2,500 - $3,000 in donations from customers. A young man even brought in his paycheck from the Lake Hallie Golf Course and signed it over to Phil and his family. The business also put cards on restaurant tables for customers to sign for Isaakson.
Culver's expressed its gratitude to the customers who waited in long lines on Monday to order.

Eau Claire (WQOW) - There have been much longer lines than usual at a local restaurant. Monday, Culver's is donating 100% of its sales to a former employee who is battling cancer.
Volunteers are staffing the Culver's on West Folsom Street in Eau Claire. Throughout the day, the line of people waiting to place an order snaked all the way around the building. The restaurant will donate all of the day's sales to the family of Eau Claire north graduate Phil Isaakson, a former employee who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.
"People are waiting in line, it's hot and they're waiting outside. But yet everybody's patient, because they know it's for the right cause. We've got all the help we could possibly get in there to make it go faster. People are patient, they're thankful, and there's cards on the table. They can write a little note," said Gary Theelke, who owns the Culver's in Menomonie and is volunteering at the event.
