Eau Claire (WQOW) - A theft at a local school leads to charges against an Eau Claire man.
About a week ago a 15-year-old girl was at Regis High School for a sporting event when someone stole a credit card and several gift cards from her backpack. The teen and her friends chased the suspect on foot but lost him.
Then last Monday, the school custodian called police after finding the same man in the mailroom. The man said he was looking for a bathroom.
Police say video surveillance shows the thief was Michael Hibbard. He's from Eau Claire and has now been charged with two counts of burglary.
