Two area jailers fired, investigation continues - WQOW TV: Eau Claire, WI NEWS18 News, Weather, and Sports

Burnett County (WQOW) - Two members of the Burnett County Sheriffs Department have been fired and more are being investigated.

Sheriff Dean Roland also says a criminal investigation has just been completed by the state department of criminal investigation.

Roland says it all stems from allegations that a member of his department was involved in two domestic abuse incidents last year and subsequent actions taken by others in the sheriffs department. Officials did not learn about any of it until months later.

Two jailer/dispatchers have been fired and several deputies are still under investigation.

Roland says those who were fired blatantly violated department policy.

The sheriff says at this point he cannot release the names of those involved or more specifics on what happened, but says that information will eventually be released.
