Eau Claire (WQOW) - An area teen managed to crash two different vehicles less than two hours apart according to sheriffs officials.
Investigators say Michael Burda, 17, crashed a minivan in Pepin County early Thursday morning. They say he and a passenger caught a ride from a friend and went back to Burda's Durand home to get a truck to use to retrieve the crashed van. But deputies say Burda then lost control of the truck, which rolled several times near Mondovi.
Burda had to be extricated from the truck. His passenger, 20-year-old Dylan Grossell, was found on the ground nearby, surrounded by power lines that were snapped in the crash. Both are now in the hospital.
The sheriffs department suspects alcohol was a factor in both crashes and says criminal charges are pending.
