Warm weather causing blue-green algae blooms

Posted:

Madison (WQOW) - The hot weather has the DNR urging residents to use caution by the water.

The weather is causing blue-green algae blooms to appear.  The blooms can trigger health problems for people and pets.  The DNR says to be on the lookout for water with a "green, pea soup appearance" or water that contains any type of scum.
