Nick Addison slugged two HRs, had 6 RBIs in game one
Wisconsin Rapids (WQOW) -- The Express won game one of a double-header with Wisconsin Rapids 8-6, but struggled in game two, falling 11-3.
The first game finished a game that started in June, but was suspended because of inclement weather. Nick Addison led the way for Eau Claire, hitting two home runs and racking up six RBIs on four hits. The Express were able to hold off a late inning rally by the Rafters, when Tony Vocca induced a game-ending double play.
Eau Claire pitcher Drew Ghelfi struggled in game two, allowing three home runs in two innings of work. He allowed six runs in all, earning the loss. The six-run deficit was too much to overcome for the Eau Claire offense, who mustered just five hits against the Rafters' pitchers.
Eau Claire and Wisconsin Rapids resume the series at Eau Claire on Tuesday. It will be WQOW-News 18 night at Carson Park. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
