St. Croix County (WQOW) - It will take an army of support to pull off a new study about cancer.
The American Cancer Society is hoping to recruit 300,000 adults across the country for an historic study. Researchers want to learn more about what causes cancer and what can prevent it.
They're looking for people between 30 and 65 years old who have never had cancer. To enroll, you'll have to give a blood sample and complete a survey. Then, every few years for the next 20 or 30 years, you will be asked to fill out a follow-up survey. In St. Croix County alone, the goal is to recruit 210 participants.
There will be a kick-off event to recruit residents in St. Croix County. It will be held on Thursday, July 26th at the Hudson Hospital at 7:30 a.m.
