Cornell (WQOW)-An area business suffers heavy damage following an early morning fire.
Cornell fire crews were called to Larson's Custom Cabinets around 3 a.m. this morning. The fire chief says a fire started in the southwest corner of the building which is near a break room.
No one was working at the time and no one was injured during the fire although two firemen were in the building when a roof collapsed.
"We did have two firemen that were temporarily trapped in the building. They got in [through the garage door]. The roof caved in on them bringing the garage door down and luckily that the garage door landed on a sawhorse giving them a little exit to get back out. So we're very fortunate to not have them injured," Chief Dennis Klass, Cornell Fire Department.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire before it reached the office, but the building still received heavy damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
