Poll: Obama up 6 points on Romney in Wisconsin

MADISON (WKOW) -- President Barack Obama holds a 50-44 lead on Republican challenger Mitt Romney in Wisconsin. That's according to the latest poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP) released Wednesday morning.

While the President holds a comfortable lead, only 47 percent of those polled say they approve of his job performance, while 48 percent disapprove.

But, Mitt Romney's negatives are much higher. 

Only 41 percent rate him favorably, while 50 percent have a negative opinion of him.

The poll does show that if Romney were to pick Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) as his running mate, President Obama's lead in Wisconsin would shrink to 47-46.

PPP also polled the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to uphold most of the Affordable Care Act and its getting good reviews here.

Forty-six percent of those surveyed say they approve of the ruling, with 44 percent against it.
