Aarik Woods

Aarik Woods joined WQOW in April 2012 as a reporter. He was an intern in the Sports Department during the summer of 2010.

Aarik was born in Clinton, Iowa. He attended Fulton High School and graduated from Western Illinois University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Broadcasting, with a minor of Journalism. Besides his internship, he served as reporter, anchor, and producer for the school's student-run newscasts.

Though he works in news, he is still a big sports fan. As the son of a football coach, he spent a lot of time at practices and games growing up. At WIU, he was twice awarded color commentator of the year for sports coverage on the school's radio and television broadcasts.

Though he has always lived in the Midwest, he loves the Los Angeles area and follows mostly L.A. teams. In his spare time, Aarik enjoys spending time outdoors, jogging, or playing basketball.
