Black River Falls (WQOW) - A former area tribal official will serve time in federal prison for taking a bribe in what prosecutors call a multi-million dollar case.

Former Ho-Chunk Nation Vice President Clarence Pettibone is from Black River Falls.

He admitted accepting bribes to use his position to help others get lucrative contracts with the Ho-Chunk Casino and other tribal businesses.

Pettibone was sentenced Wednesday to five years in prison. Tribal members Tim Whiteagle and Deb Atherton are accused of soliciting more than $3 million in bribe money from companies wanting to do business with the tribe.

Atherton will be sentenced in October. Whiteagle is scheduled for trial at the end of July.
