
The Express 2-game win streak ends at Athletic ParkWausau (WQOW) -- The Express is still unable to sweep a two-game series this Northwoods League season, as a big inning dooms Eau Claire in a 10-3 loss to the Woodchucks in front of 1,331 fans at Athletic Park.
Wisconsin scores seven runs in the fifth, taking advantage of an error by Express first baseman Casey Gillaspie. Philip Walby is charged with the loss, although only three of the six runs he allows are earned. Harvey Martin gives up two runs, one earned, in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Drew Ghelfi, the third pitcher used by Eau Claire, allows two runs on five hits in two innings.
Tim Zier leads the Express offense, going 3-5 at the plate with an RBI. Ryan Shober is 2-4 with an RBI.
Eau Claire continues its road trip, playing its next three in Mequon vs. the Lakeshore Chinooks. Friday's game begins at 7:05 P.M.
