Lake Hallie (WQOW) - Six people are displaced after a fire breaks out at a Lake Hallie home.
A fire broke out at a duplex around five o'clock Sunday night. The cause of the fire is still unknown. No one was injured. Chippewa Fire District crews called in help from Township Fire and Eau Claire crews as a precaution due to the heat.
"We've had some crews that are in rehab right now, they were getting pretty exhausted. In fact, some of the fire personnel here from the Chippewa Fire District were fighting a hay fire out on County X and so they came directly from that. So they were tired to begin with," said Interim Fire Chief Rick Merryfield.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is believed to have started on the back deck. The fire damage was contained to the attic area, but the first floor was damaged by smoke and water.
