Posted:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Two Madison brothers are hospitalized in critical condition as investigators search for answers to why their house exploded.

The blast knocked their home off the foundation Monday and blew the front door and its frame into the front yard. Brian and Dillon Hansen, both in their 20s, were taken to UW Hospital after the explosion.

Their parents were also in the house, but not seriously injured.

The State Journal says the explosion also caused small fires in the basement and structural cracks in the ceiling and interior walls of the house.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A house explosion early Monday in Madison sent two men to the hospital.

The explosion happened just before 5 a.m. Fire department spokeswoman Lori Wirth says four people were in the home at the time, including a couple and their two adult sons. The men were taken by ambulance to UW Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The State Journal says police officers took the parents to the hospital. Wirth says they're OK. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
