Wisconsin (WQOW) - Heat is being blamed for more than half-a-dozen deaths in Wisconsin just this month.
Since July 1st, state health officials say there have been eight heat-related deaths. Health officials say another 11 deaths could possibly be related to heat. Two of those fatalities were in Barron County.
When temperatures climb above 90 degrees health officials suggest avoiding strenuous activities, drinking plenty of water and finding a cool place to stay. If you don't have air conditioning at home head to a local library or mall. It's also a good idea to check in on neighbors, friends and family to make sure they are managing the heat.
