Menomonie (WQOW)- A grant from a major league team will help re-vamp an area ball field.
The city of Menomonie voted unanimously on Monday to accept a $10,000 grant from the Minnesota Twins. The money will be used to make improvements to a baseball diamond at Lake Wakanda park. As part of the agreement the city, along with the Menomonie Baseball Association, will need to match the grant and cover any additional costs of the project.
To get the field game ready the city guesses it will cost about $35,000 and says it is applying for additional grants.
