Eau Claire (WQOW)- Plans for an Eau Claire development take a step forward.

The city's plan commission approved the site plan for the metro crossing development Monday night. The project, a proposed 84-unit apartment building, is planned for the site of the former Country Hearth Inn and Suites hotel.

In June, the city council voted to rezone the property. Once a building permit is approved construction at the site can begin.
