Meet The Express: Frank Salas

Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Frank Salas is using his summer in the Northwoods League to learn a new position.

Salas, who attends Cochise College in Douglas, Arizona, is pitching for the Express, and tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts Monday night.

"I have been an outfielder all my life, an outfielder/first baseman," says Salas, "so I have a long arm motion, so they always try to give me arm speed and stuff, so that's all the work that I do, and run...run like a deer."  

Salas says the NWL season is a grind, but he's happy to have the opportunity to take the next step in his baseball career.  

"You get here three hours before [the game]," Salas says, "so you've got plenty of time to get your reps, repetitions, and work on the stuff you're not doing well, so you can get better every day."
