Eau Claire (WQOW) - The city of Eau Claire is trying to go with the flow, but that's easier said than done in this hot, dry weather.
On Monday, the city pumped almost 19 million gallons of water. That more than doubled the average and marked the highest output of the year. Jeff Pippenger, the utilities administrator, says the city is not considering any water restrictions right now. Pippenger says that would change if water quality was affected or if there were major mechanical problems.
The city wants to remind residents to conserve water when the demand is high. There's always a concern that a large demand for water could impact supply for firefighters in the event of an emergency. If you're watering, please do so in the morning hours.
